Dell Weaver, 88, of 611 North Second, died Sunday following a lingering illness. He was born May 1, 1882 in Anthony, Kansas and was a member of the Second Baptist Church. Survivors include seven sons, William and Raymond of McAlester, Kenneth and Kenton of Long Beach, California, Jack of Oxnard, California, Buster of Krebs and Jackie Weaver of Pauls Valley; three daughters, Mrs. Lillian Higgins of McAlester, Barbara Weaver of Oklahoma City and Mary Weaver of Haywood; a sister, Mrs. Etta Dugan of McAlester; a niece, Freda Perkins of McAlester; 18 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Chaney's Chapel. Rev. H.E. Cacy will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Chaney's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be James Tannehill, Benny Smith Jr., Joe White and Walter LeFlore."
