Daniel K. Hamilton passed from this life at his home on March 19, 2019.
Born December 22, 1958, in Miami, Florida, Dan was the son of Jimmie L. and Patricia Hamilton. After his graduation from Lexington High School he attended USC before joining the USAF. He lived most of his adult life in West Columbia. A colorful character, Daniel, who had a special soul, never met a stranger on one of his many walkabouts of the Meeting Street area. He was known simply as "Red" to most of the local community. Dan loved all animals, was a known tinkerer and collector of many things, and a grand master of the unicycle. He was artistically talented with many hobbies, most recently the creation of rock balancing sculptures which decorate his yard.
