Steven Marshall Powell, age 71, of Dacula, Georgia, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2019. Steve was a graduate of Penn State University and an avid Penn State football fan. He served his country honorably as a Captain in the United States Army. He enjoyed traveling and taking cruises with his wife Theresa. He also enjoyed gardening, golfing and spending time with his friends especially "his porch buddies" Jerry and Tom. His greatest joy was his family, and particularly, his grandchildren. When asked who was his favorite he would always say "they are all my favorite". He will be greatly missed by his wife Theresa, children; Melissa (Steven) Boggess, Christopher (Amanda) Powell, Sarah (Dino) Curic and David Powell. As well as his grandchildren; Andrew, Austin, Doyle and Trevor Boggess; Landon, Emma Kate and Millie Powell; and great-grandson Aiden Boggess. Steve is predeceased by his father George Marshall Powell and mother Dorothy Powell. A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Friday, March 29, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Crowell Brothers Buford. A Memorial service will immediately follow the visitation Friday morning at 11:00 a.m. at the Crowell Brothers Buford Chapel. Graveside service at National Cemetery in Canton, GA will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Steve's memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital at www.stjude.org or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at www.lls.org.
