Ken married Zelda Fisher on February 22, 1964 at the Spa Chapel in Clifton Springs, New York.
He proudly served in the United States Army between January 1958 and March 1960 with Charlie Battery, 4th Missile 1 Battalion, 71st Artillery, Fort Hancock, New Jersey, He also served and retired as a Sergeant First Class, Combat Engineer with the Army Reserves between 1974 and 1995, with 1 Company D, 2nd Battalion, 390th Regiment, 98th Division, Webster, New York.
Ken enjoyed visiting the Adirondack Mountains, traveling, reading, the outdoors, music and the arts. He was known for his knowledge of world affairs. Ken deeply loved his wife, children and grandchildren. Always the priority in his life, he visited his son, daughter and other family members during their military careers. He enjoyed his memberships with the American Legion, Elks Club, Moose Club, and, Lyons Club in New York.
He is survived by his wife, Zelda Johns of Lacey, Washington; son, Mark Johns (Karen) of Crestview, Florida; daughters, Kimberly Reinbrecht (Steven) of Olympia, Washington, and Marcia Johns of Olympia; four grandchildren; and his sister, Marge Gunkler (Robert) of Phelps, New York. He was predeceased by his parents, Arthur Leon and Edna Johns; grandparents, Christian and Ella Johns and John and Anna Risseew; brother, Paul Johns (Karen) of Lyons, New York; and grandson, Andrew Johns.
