Charles A Cotton, age 67, of Grove City, Ohio, passed away on August 22, 2016 at Mt. Carmel West. He was born on February 4, 1949 in Gallipolis, Ohio. He is survived by wife of 45 years, Karen; son and wife, Christopher and Natalie Cotton; daughter and husband, Jennifer and David Manning; grandchildren, Emily Cotton, Alex Cotton, Andrew Cotton, Molly Manning and Jacob Manning; mother, Virginia Cotton; and sister and brother-in-law, Charletta and Thomas Case of Beaufort, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews; extended families; and the family dogs, Lana, Rudy and Misti. Preceded in death by father Austin Cotton, grandparents Charles and Hazel Shelton and Cecil and Thelma Cotton. Charles dedicated his life to serving the community. He was a volunteer coach with GCKA youth soccer and softball programs, served on the MDA Telethons, the Civil Service Commission, the Grove City Fair Board, the Grove City High School Band Boosters, volunteered at the OSU Ross Heart Hospital for 7 yrs. and was a charter member of the Grove City Noon Lions, organ donor. He also served as a member of Republican County Central Committee from 1975 and 1994 and member of Grove City Council, Ward-1 from 1986 to 1994. Services will be held Friday from 4-7 p.m. at THE SPENCE-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 2697 Columbus St. Grove City, Ohio, where funeral will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. with Pastor Dave Berna officiating. Interment will follow at Gallia Baptist Church Cemetery.
