Tyler John Baker, 27, of Oakwood, Illinois, passed away on Saturday (March 23, 2019).

Tyler was born on August 16, 1991 in Urbana, Illinois to Michael Baker and Cheri Baker.

He is survived by his mother, Cheri Baker; two sisters, Heather and Alexis Baker; great-grandparents, David and Evelyn Darr; grandparents, John and Nancy VanVickle; uncles, Dan Baker and John (Jami) VanVickle and an aunt, Lori (John) Dorwart.

He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Baker; sister, Bethany Baker; grandparents, Gracye Baker and Lee Jr. Baker and great-grandparents, Ralph and Sigried VanVickle and Florence Baker and Lee Baker.

Tyler was a 2009 graduate of Jamaica High School. He attended DACC on the Lowell and Florence Crawford Scholarship then went on to further his education at Eastern Illinois University. Tyler graduated Summa Cum Laude from Eastern with both his Bachelor of Science in Business and Master of Business Administration in Accountancy.

He was employed as the Supervisor of Accounting at Wolfram Research in Champaign.

Tyler enjoyed spending time with his much larger and protective friends. He excelled at and craved the competitive nature of video gaming. He was an avid reader and full of knowledge.

Tyler will be remembered most for his sarcasm, great sense of humor, and goofy laugh. His wittiness and big heart will be greatly missed.

Tyler’s heart is once again whole as he is reunited with his father and sister in Heaven.
