Vernon March 12, 1898, she had lived here for 44 years. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, a life member of the Eastern Star, Pleasantville Chapter 546, and a charter member of the Hawthorne Fire Department Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Hawthorne Reformed Church. Services were held at Beecher Funeral Home on Monday The Women s Auxiliary of the Hawthorne Fire Department held another service on Monday night. Burial was at Hawthorne Reformed Church Cemetery. She was the wife of the late Leroy V. Carpenter. She leaves one daughter, Mrs. Jane C. Kellogg of the home address; two sons, Robert L. Carpenter also of the home address, and Stagey A. Carpenter of Yorktown.
