A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late William and Velma Hannah Rose and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Houser and a grandson, Steven McMahan. Lloyd loved singing gospel music, spending time with his family and enjoyed repair work on cars.
Lloyd is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jean Cutshaw Rose; two daughters, Carolyn Rose and Jean Ann Moody, both of Waynesville; a son, David Michael Rose and his wife, Becky, of Clyde; three brothers, Tony Shelton and wife, Lynn, Darris Rose and wife, Hazel, and Burrel Rose, all of Waynesville; six grandchildren, Cody and Casey Rose, Lisa Martin, Keith McMahan and Misty and Jason Houser; and two great-grandchildren, Maycie Henry and Erwin McMahan.
Private family services will be held.
