Erika Robbins Memorial services for Erika Robbins will be held Thursday, May 26th at 2:00 p.m. at Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church with the Reverend Richie Davis officiating. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Ms. Robbins was born Erika Anna Maria Demeter, November 27, 1941 in Romania, daughter of the late Franz Joseph and Maria Katarina Steuer Demeter. She died Saturday, May 14, 2011 in Meridian lovingly surrounded by family and friends. Erika was raised in Germany and proudly became an American citizen in 1964. She lived in Meridian until 1984 before moving to Texas. She owned and operated E.R. Fabrications, a custom interiors workroom in Dallas, until her retirement in June of 2009. She returned to Meridian after being widowed in 2010. She loved spending time with her granddaughters, traveling, being outdoors, and solving crossword puzzles. Survivors include her daughter Patricia (Trish) McElroy Drinkwater and husband John; granddaughters Christina Maria Drinkwater and Anna Catherine Drinkwater; sisters Elizabeth Kruger of Schmachtenhagen, Germany; Adele Linberg and husband Robert of El Paso, Texas and Helga Cook of Lakeside, Arizona; brother Franz Demeter of Schmachtenhagen, Germany; priceless friends Ron and Martha Huckaby of Little Elm, Texas; step-children Kathy Lynn (Wayne) McElroy Blackmon of Brandon; C.W. (Bill) (Mavis) McElroy, Jr. of Meridian; Scott Robbins of Freeport, Illinois; Brad Robbins of Chebanse, Illinois ; Cindy Robbins Knight of Bradley, Illinois; and numerous step-grandchildren.
