James (Jim) Leslie Sterling died peacefully in his home on March 18, 2019, in Kirkwood, Missouri, at the age of 80.

Jim is survived by his wife, 3 children, his 5 siblings, 3 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virginia and Leslie Sterling.

Jim was born on Feb. 27, 1939, in St. Louis, Missouri. He graduated from Coyle High School in 1957 and married Mary Stuart in 1960. Jim was an Army veteran and after his service discharge, worked for PJ Hamill Transfer Company as a mechanic. In his retirement, he enjoyed working on cars, house projects, talking with his friends and watching NASCAR races. He was a caring individual who would always step in and help anyone in need.

A funeral is scheduled for Monday, March 25, 2019, at 10:30 a.m., at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery,
