Daniel Isaac "Dan" Barnes, 60, went home to his new address with his Lord on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at his residence.

He was a native of Cincinnati, Ohio and the son of the late C. L. and Mary Jane Young Barnes. He was also preceded in death by first wife, Lisa; and his daughters, Amber Barnes and Shannon Barnes.

He leaves behind his wife of 21 years, Alice Barnes; a daughter, Denise Burnette; granddaughter, Jobi Hill and her father, Jonathan Hill. He also leaves behind his brothers, Mack Young, Sam Barnes (Deborah) plus a special brother, Coleman Ammons; a wonderful aunt, Helen Garren; step mother, Shirley Barnes and mother-in-law, Evelyn Lollis. He was honored to be known as papaw to Monica and Melissa Estrada (Hector and Stephanie), Hayden and Bella Ingle (Amber Phillips) and to the many kids that came through the home that he shared with his wife. He shared a special bond with Ginnie Abbott and Lynn Robertson, whom he loved dearly.

Pastor Allen Rash you were such a loving friend to Dan. You were so faithful to be at his side during good days and bad. We have you to thank for the last week or two of his life. He drank all of those milk shakes when he would not eat. Dan loved being a greeter at Trinity Baptist Church. When he was not able to attend church, he would watch over the internet and speak to many through the television. He was faithful to pray for our pastors and their families.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday August 24, 2018 at Trinity Baptist Church in Asheville with the Reverend Allen Rash, Reverend Davis Plemmons and Reverend Donnie Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery in Candler.
