He was born in Dyersburg, Tennessee on March 25th, 1921 to Robert and Myrtie Hendricks.
He grew up in Detroit, Michigan where he met and married the love of his life, Charlotte Eloise Packer.
After the bombing of Pearl Harbor, Bob immediately enlisted in the U.S Navy in early 1942 where he served as a naval combat pilot until the end of WWII. He continued to serve in the U.S. Naval Reserve until 1956.
Upon returning from the war, Bob attended and graduated from the Lawrence Institute of Technology in Detroit where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering.
Bob moved to Fort Worth, TX with his wife and young son to work for General Dynamics as Editor in Chief. He oversaw preparations of all Flight Handbooks for various aircraft projects including the B-36, B-58, F-111, and the F-16 Falcon.
Bob retired from General Dynamics in March 1988. He enjoyed playing baseball, golf, traveling, and the outdoors. Most of all, he loved his family. He was a gentle, kind, and loving soul. He will be forever missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Myrtie Hendricks and his beloved uncle Mack Palmer.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Eloise; his son, Randall and wife, Lynette; grandson, David and wife, Traci, and their daughter, Henley; grandson, Scott and wife, Lacey, and their children, Robert, Jon, and Charlotte.
