James J. McDonough, 60 , of Plymouth formerly of Needham died on Tuesday June 5, 2007 at the Jordan Hospital in Plymouth. Born in Framingham, Jimmy grew up in Needham where he graduated from the Needham High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1969 where he served on the U.S.S. Wasp. He was a Police Officer for the Town of Needham for many years and was also a Motorcycle Patrolman. He retired in 1995 from the Needham Police Department. In 1998 he moved to Plymouth. Jimmy was also very involved in Auto Racing where he built and raced his own car. He was also an avid NASCAR Fan. Jim was the beloved husband of Cheryl (Scanlan). Loving father of Robert J. McDonough of Dedham, Laurie A Warmington of Attleboro, Kyle J. and Kevin P. McDonough both of Plymouth. Grandfather of Paul and Joseph Warmington of Attleboro. Funeral from the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Saturday June 9th at 9:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours on Friday from 4-8 Pm. Interment with Military Honors will take place at the Needham Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials in Jimmy's name may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of New England, 85 Astor Ave. Suite 2, Norwood, MA 02062.
