Karen Estelle Turner Johnston died Friday March 22, 2019 at 1:15 am at St. Francis Health Care Center in Muskogee.
The family will receive visitors 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday March 25, 2019 at Bishop Funeral Service.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday March 26, 2019 at Ashland Cemetery, Ashland, officiated by Rev. Kenny Morrow.
Arrangements are entrusted to Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory, McAlester, Oklahoma.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Benny Don Whitworth, Paul Shannon, Leon Labor, Jeremy Doyle, Cody Johnston, Josh Johnston and Zach Turner.
Karen was born to Estelle and Marie (Richardson) Turner June 30, 1950 at St. Mary’s Hospital in McAlester. She married George “Frog” Johnston on May 23, 1969.
Karen enjoyed spending her time with family especially her little Essyx. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, canning, crocheting and spending time with her dogs Daisy and Rosie. Karen loved taking care of the elderly and loved babies and children of all ages.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Estelle and Marie Turner; brother, David Lynn Turner and an infant brother.
Karen was survived by her husband, George “Frog” Johnston of the home; son, Patrick Johnston and wife, Karen of Kiowa; grandsons, Cody Johnston, Josh Johnston both of Kiowa; brother, Paul Turner and wife, Carol of Kiowa; niece, Heidi Armstrong and husband, Caleb of Kiowa; nephew, Zack Turner and wife, Leslie of Crowder and numerous other nieces, nephews and family members and friends.
