Gary Carpenter was born the son of Edward R. (1918 PA-1980) and Nellie Kokal Carpenter (1921-2017) .

His siblings: Mary Alta, Cathy, Lynette, and Edward.

His children are: Gary jr. , Laurie, Natalie, Steven, Brian, and Jackie Carpenter.

Gary E. Carpenter-Gary E. "Coop" Carpenter, 72, of Howard, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2019, at his home surrounded by Family.

He was born Sept. 8, 1946, in Cleveland to the late Edward R. and Nellie J. (Kokal) Carpenter.

Gary worked for GM for over 42 years retiring in 2008. worked part time for the Mount Vernon News.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita (Robbins) Carpenter; six children, Gary (Michelle) Carpenter Jr, Laurie (Joe) Carpenter, Natalie (James) Carpenter, Jackie (Matt) Smith, Brian Carpenter, Stephen Carpenter, two step children, Robyn (Linn) Bebout, Christopher McCandless, four siblings, Mary Alta (Mike) Bohnovic, Cathy (Greg) Stoner, Edward Carpenter, Lynette (Frank) LaCava; 12 grandchildren, Krista, Mikey, Hannah, Chloe, Caiden, Oliva, Cole, Caden, Cameron, Rowan, Tessa, and Emily, four Brother-in-laws, Tommy, (Cathy) Robbins, Herbert (Darnella) Robbins, Buddy Robbins, and Robert Robbins.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law, Cindy Carpenter, and a brother in law, Guy W. Robbins.

Friends may call Sunday, March 24, from 2-5 p.m. at Lasator funeral Home, 11337 Upper Gilchrist road in Mount Vernon. A funeral Mas will be held Monday at 0 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

In addition, in his younger years, he played softball, and bowled. He loved corvettes and enjoyed Ohio State, Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland Browns. He was fun and enjoyed life.

Gary as my husband's (Jim Hicks) best friend since they were 6 and mine since I was 17. We will miss him dearly.
