In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 45 years, LouAda Perdue Shelton.
Survivors include his loving children and grandchildren, son, Brandon Shelton and his wife, Sallie, and children, Brandon and Lauren, of Scottsville; daughter, Shawn Morris and her husband, Steven, and their children, Phillip and Caroline, of Montgomery, Texas; son, Jonathan Shelton and his wife, Sarah, and children, Collin and Nathan, of Charlottesville; daughter, Katherine Fonville and her husband, Mark, and their children, AnneClare, Charlotte, and Hudson, of Richmond; his sister, Dreama Price; and brothers, Keith and Duane Shelton.
Brandon was raised in Clifton Forge, Virginia, where he played football while attending Clifton Forge High School. He was also a proud graduate of Virginia Tech. Brandon was dedicated to Payne Paving Company in Scottsville and all of its employees for nearly 50 years. He was an active member of St. Anne's Parish where he served as Junior Warden on the Vestry. He also served on the board of BB&T bank in Scottsville. His favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was an honorable, kind and generous man who made a positive impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 24, 2019, at Christ Church, Glendower by the Reverend Randy Golladay. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation or to the charity of your choice. Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
