Johnny was a truck driver for UPS Freight and a Veteran of the U.S. Navy as an aviation structural Mechanic. He attended the Eng School of Self Defense where he was an instructor and a 4th degree black belt. Johnny loved guns, fishing, and cars and was truly a jack of all trades. He was a graduate of Bessemer City High school Class of 1983. A special thanks to Gaston Hospice, especially to Mary West and Lisa Bradshaw.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Tonya Tate Hale; son, David Richard Hale of Cherryville; daughter, Cheyenne Hale Small and husband, Gerald of Crouse; and three siblings.
The family will be receiving friends Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the home on N. Hoyle Street from 2:00 until 4:00 PM. All services will be private.
