Helen Louise (Lange) Sparks, 86, was called by Christ Jesus to her heavenly home on Thursday, March 7, 2019. Born in Hemlock, MI, she graduated from Merrill High School (MI) and Marion College (IWU) with a B.S. and earned a Master's Degree in education from Michigan State University. Offering her life in service to teaching children and young people Music, English, Journalism, and Photography, she taught in the Saginaw Public School system.

Helen Sparks was a devoted wife and co-laborer in ministry to her beloved husband, the Rev. Albert E. Sparks, Jr., who preceded her in glory in September of 2002. Together they ministered at Midland Wesleyan Chapel (MI), Saginaw Wesleyan Church (MI), Lakeview Wesleyan Church (IN), and Dice Wesleyan Church (MI).

Helen was a dedicated and devoted mother to Albert, Greg, and Doneen. Raising her children to know and serve Jesus was her greatest joy. Welcoming her seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren into her loving arms was her favorite pastime; her vegetable beef soup will be greatly missed.

Helen's light and life will be perpetually honored by her children, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. "Her children arise and call her blessed..." Proverbs 31:28

The family will receive visitors from 12 noon to 2 p.m. with a Celebration of Life for Helen beginning at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2019, in the chapel at College Wesleyan Church, 200 E. 38th St., Marion, IN. Pastor Alex Mandura and Pastor Chuck McCallum will be officiating with private burial at Grant Memorial Park.

Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN
