Lois Ann Gray Dokken, age 92 of Hammond died peacefully Monday, March 18th at the Hammond Health Services. Lois was born on November 6, 1926, the daughter of Claude and Dorothy (Bain) Bangle. On August 1, 1947, she was united in marriage to Virgie Eugene Gray; Virgie would later pass in 1988 after 40 years of devotion to Lois. In 1993, Lois found a partner in Norman Dokken. Norman and Lois shared 9 years together before Norman’s passing in 2002.

Lois enjoyed painting, playing various card games, and crafting her own homemade greeting cards later in her life. She remained active in her church through the years; she took pleasure in bible studies with others and cooking for the youth of the church.

Lois will remain in the hearts of her daughters, Colleen Gray, Cherie (Greg) Burton, Claudia Bruhn, and Chris (Dave) Lardy; grandchildren; Seth Jacobson, Jennifer Burton, Grace Miller, Heather Jacobson, Paul Burton, Emily Jacobson, Andy Burton, Josh Bruhn, Nick Bruhn, Jeremy Lardy, Chad Lardy, Nora Bruhn, Justin Lardy, Charlie Bruhn and many great-grandchildren; as well as other extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; siblings, Elaine (George) Schneider and James Bangle.

Memorial Celebration Of Life will be 3PM Saturday, March 23 at the O'Connell Family Funeral Home of Baldwin. Visitation will be one hour prior at O'Connell's Saturday afternoon. Private interment will be in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in St. Paul. Memorials are preferred. Services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home and Countryside Crematory of Baldwin.
