Rita Henderson, age 87, of Cresco, IA passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Regional Health Services of Howard County.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am Monday, March 25 at Notre Dame Catholic Church, Cresco with burial in Calvary Cemetery, Cresco. Friends may call on Sunday, March 24 from 3 to 5 pm at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Cresco where there will be a 5 pm Scripture Service and at the church on Monday for an hour prior to services.
Rita M. Henderson was born October 26, 1931 in Reedsburg, Wisconsin, she attended school in Ironton, WI and graduated from High School in Wonewoc, WI.
Rita married Kenny Henderson in Reedsburg, WI on May 16th, 1953. They adopted their two children: while living in La Crosse. They later moved to Cresco where they spent the remainder of their lives.
Over the years Rita worked at HECO in Harmony, MN, the Cresco State Bank and Skelgas until 1989 when she retired.
During retirement she and Kenny enjoyed spending the Winters in McAllen, TX.
Rita enjoyed camping with her family, sewing and cooking. In her later years she enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenny and all of her siblings: Cyril, Earl and Lila.
