Mrs. Lucian Smith Funeral To Be Conducted Friday
Funeral services will be held at the Baptist church in Jackson, Friday afternoon at one o'clock for Mrs. Lucian Smith who passed away here Tuesday, December 14, following an illness of a few weeks duration. Rev. L. K. Barbee will conduct the services.
Mrs. Smith would have been eighty-eight years of age on December 18.
Louisa Ellen McCool was born at Gault, Missouri, December 18, 1860. When eighteen years of age she joined the Christian Church and was baptized at Gault. In 1878 she moved with her family to Kearney, Nebraska, where she spent the greater part of the remainder of her life. She was married to Lucian Smith on November 9, 1890, at Kearney, and to this union were born two daughters. For fifty years, Mr. and Mrs. Smith were engaged in the furniture business at Kearney. They came to Jackson to make their home five years ago.
Mrs. Smith leaves to mourn her passing, her husband and their two daughters, Mrs. G. B. Watsabaugh and Mrs. Dee Wheelock; two sisters, Mrs. Adaline Ferguson, Los Angeles, and Eva Larimer, Hollywood, California; three grandsons: Dee, Tom and Warren Watsabaugh; and two great grandchildren: daughter and son of Mr. and Mrs. Dee Watsagaugh.
Burial will be in the Jackson cemetery.
The body will lie in state at the Baptist church Thursday evening and Friday morning.
