Thomas Scott Goodman, Jr., 69, passed away on Thursday, July 05, 2018 at his residence.

A lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Thomas Scott and Edith Cole Goodman. Scott was a United States Army veteran. He was a member of Clyde Central United Methodist Church where he was a choir member and a member of the United Methodist Men. Scott attained two associates with applied science degrees in Forestry and Agriculture. He retired with 30 years of service with the United States Department of Agriculture.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Alecia Haynes Goodman; two sisters, Margaret Millsaps (David) and Myra Mente (Bill), all of Canton; six nieces and nephews, Chad, Alicia, Jo, Jennifer, KC and Katie.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Clyde Central United Methodist Church with the Reverend Joyce Bunn and Reverend Chad Sloan officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church narthex. Military honors will be conducted by the United States Army.
