She was born to Griffin and Eldora (Britten) Eldridge on Aug. 24, 1936, in Eau Claire. She married Glen Winters in Hudson, Iowa, on Nov. 11, 1961.
Janet worked as a secretary and at a computer board manufacturer. She enjoyed handwork, baking and spending time with family and friends playing games, cards and especially dominoes. She was an avid Green Bay Packers fan, and loved watching their games with her family and friends. She also loved attending her grandchildren's sporting events.
She is survived and will deeply missed by her husband of 48 years, Glen; four sons, Howie, Joe, Jerry (Cris), all of Eau Claire and Jim (Tina) of San Antonio, Texas; one daughter, Kathy (Butch) Martin of Portland, Ore.; two sisters, Joan (Bob) Roach of Evansdale, Iowa, and Kay (Bill) Jensen of Eau Claire; two brothers, Gene Eldridge of Wenatchee, Wash., and Dick (Dorthy) Eldridge of Garrison, Iowa. She was the cherished grandmother of 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Victoria and Catherine; one son, Gerald; her parents; and two brothers, Gary and Bob.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, at Immaculate Conception Church in Eau Claire, with Father Eugene Klink presiding. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Stokes, Prock and Mundt Funeral Chapel, 535 S. Hillcrest Parkway, Altoona, and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.
