LeWayne "Wayne" Powell, 63, died Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at McLeod Hospice House, Florence, after an illness.
Wayne was born October 16, 1955 in Florence County, son of the late Willie David Powell and Elizabeth Bernice Poston Powell. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, a member of St. John Free Will Baptist Church, Pamplico and attended Calvary Baptist Church, Lake City. Wayne loved the Lord, was constantly reading his Bible and praying. Everyone who knew Wayne, knew this when they heard his testimonies, which he gave every Sunday while he was able to get to Calvary Baptist Church. He loved his friends and they all loved him. We will miss Wayne, but will always remember his love, his sense of humor and words of wisdom.
Surviving are his daughters; his constant loving companion, caregiver, friend and the love of his life, Jean Powell; several grandchildren; and two sisters.
