Marie Beatrice Lynch entered into peace on March 16, 2019 in Hobbs New Mexico. Marie was born in Sulphur, Oklahoma on April 27th, 1924 to Cecilia and Andrew Goforth. She married Edmund Lynch on August 30th, 1969. Marie’s passions included sewing and styling hair. She owned Marie’s Beauty shop in Eunice NM, where she styled hair for over 30 years. She belonged to Fellowship of Believers in Hobbs, NM.
Marie is preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Ceclia Goforth of Sulphur OK, one brother, Alphred Goforth of Davis OK, sisters Lorene Randall of Noble, OK, Silvia Chronister of Frisco, TX, Jean Chambers of Ore City, TX, and Norma Jean Kirk of Tahlequah, OK. She is also preceded in death by two sons Doyle Douglas of Longview, TX and and David Douglas of Gladewater, TX as well as two great grandchildren, Chase and Autumn Farley of Hobbs, New Mexico.
Marie is survived, and will be missed, by her husband of the home, Edmund (Eddie) Lynch of Hobbs, sisters Ellen Green and Hellen Goforth of Roff OK, Frankie Church of Yukon, OK, Virginia Batson of Davis, OK, and a granddaughter Melonie Smith of Arlington, TX, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family will accept visitors for a viewing at Griffin funeral home from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, March 20th . Services will be held on Thursday, March 21th, at 10:00 am. A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, March 22nd at Oaklawn Cemetary in Sulphur Oklahoma.
