Terry Alan Smith, son of Donald Leonard Smith and Esther Evangeline (Caudill) Smith was born April 2, 1946 in Osceola, Iowa and passed from this life Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Madison County Memorial Hospital at 72 years of age.

Terry was raised on a farm near Peru, Iowa. He went to school at Truro, Iowa and graduated from Interstate 35 School in 1964 after the reorganization of these schools.
After graduation he married Ladonna Irene Kirkpatrick from New Virginia, Iowa. Four children were born to this union.

Terry joined the Air Force in 1964, basic was at Amarillo, Texas then was stationed at Laughlin Air Force Base in Del Rio, Texas until the Vietnam War. He was then stationed at Takhli Air Force Base in Thailand. Terry was called back home to farm his grandpa Harold Smith's place on South River at Murray, Iowa in 1967. He farmed until interest was too high to continue.

He went to work for Rose Acre Farms in Winterset, Iowa, as the move was made to Winterset, he continued his love for horses, especially Percherons. As a young boy he loved to hunt and fish and continued this hobby until his health made it impossible.

Terry sang bass for Harbour Lights Quartet for many years. He sang at many funerals, church and special occassions. At the age of 13, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at the Peru Methodist Church.

Those relatives who preceded Terry in death were his parents, Esther and Donald; brother, Aaron David Smith great-grandson, Lane Smith; niece, Danni Porter.
