She was born February 6, 1942 in Lake Village, AR, to Edward Lewis and Julie Mae Coleman. She was a member of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Magnolia. Sarah worked for many years as a surgical nurse. She was a great mentor and teacher for many people. What you learned from Sarah, you never forgot; she made sure of that. She was firm, but also kind and gentle. Not only did she teach well, but she also gave spiritual, and financial advice. When she became a director in the Surgery Department; you couldn’t ask for a better person to fill the position. She handled any and every situation professionally, she knew God was by her side leading and guiding her. No task was too difficult for Sarah. Even after retirement she would come by and visit people she had worked with. To this day, everyone talks about Sarah as a great nurse, mentor, and most of all a wonderful friend who will be missed dearly.
Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Lewis and Julia Mae Coleman; and one sister, Ethel Lewis.
