Graveside funeral service for Mrs. Anna Ruth McAlister Marshall, age 92, of Fayetteville, TN will be conducted at 10 AM on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, with Dr. Jon Hathcock officiating.
Anna was born on December 25, 1925 in Lincoln County, TN to the late J.W. and Agnes Moore McAlister. She had worked with Serbin Fashions. Mrs. Marshall enjoyed reading, crosswords and crocheting. She was a member of the Fayetteville First Baptist Church, and loved music, where she sang with the Y.Y.’s (Yesterday’s Youths). Mrs. Marshall passed away on December 22, 2018 at Bailey Manor.
Survivors include her daughter and husband, grandson and wife, granddaughter and husband, two great-granddaughters, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Joel Marshall; brothers, Herman, Knox, and Carl McAlister; and sisters, Alberta Smith, Rachel Smith, Nettie Moffett, Inez Hopkins, Bertha Hopkins, Gracie Drennon, and Juell Young.
Visitation with the family will be from 5 PM until 8 PM on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Higgins Funeral Home.
