Pauline Vaughn Pauline Vaughn, daughter of the late John Paul "J.P." LaRue and Ida Belle Allstun LaRue, was born on Dec. 7, 1913, in Frisco died on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter at the age of 96.
Mrs. Vaughn was a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, owner of Petite Beauty Salon in Dexter for 50 years, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #311, a volunteer at Dexter Memorial Hospital and a resident of Dexter.
On Oct. 9, 1932, she was united in marriage to Edward Ray "Dutch" Vaughn in Piggott, Ark. Mr. Vaughn preceded her in death on July 31, 1998.
She is survived by one son, James D. Vaughn and wife Carole of Dexter; two daughters, Alice Ann Griffey of Dexter and Sharon Richardson and husband Phillip Ray of Springfield; and two grandchildren, Paula White and Jason Vaughn.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by eight brothers, Charles LaRue, Walter LaRue, Johnnie LaRue, Louis LaRue, Russell LaRue, Harry LaRue, Hershel LaRue and James LaRue; and four sisters, Alma Langley, Leta Anderson, Ora Fulkerson and Pansy Snider.
Visitation was held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Monday, Sept. 20, 2010 from 5-8 p.m.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010, at 10 a.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Dr. Larry Colvin officiating.
Interment followed in the Dexter Cemetery.
