Carl G. "Curly" Johnson, Sr., 92, of Moultrie, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Voyles officiating. Interment will follow at Baker/Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

Born on May 6, 1926, in Wedowee, Alabama, he was the son of the late John Albert Johnson and Dulema Abner Johnson.

He retired from Carlton Construction Company and was of the Baptist faith. He was an avid Nascar fan and collector of racing memorabilia and was a member of the Sealy Race Team.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Susie Mae James Johnson; and sisters, Mary John McCormick and Evelyn Yates.

He is survived by his sons, Carl Johnson and wife Sue of Moultrie, Philip Johnson and wife Stephanie of Moultrie, Tim Johnson and wife Pauline of Eastman, and Steve Johnson of Valdosta; daughters, Glenda Horton and husband Frank of Stockbridge, Georgia, and Janet Dickerson and husband Shannon of Moultrie; grandchildren, Mallory Johnson, Devin Dickerson, Jennifer Quick, Mandy McKneely, Samantha Johnson, Lori Mullis, Tony Johnson, Heather Geers, Jessica Cummings, Rebecca Egan, Sara Johnson, Elizabeth Floyd, Becca Mangum, Cody Johnson, and Casey Johnson; 21 great grandchildren; and sister, Bobbie Nolen of Nashville, Tennessee.
