Travis Stanley Williams, 92, of Clinton, IL passed away 8:50 PM March 19, 2019 at Manor Court, Clinton, IL.
Graveside services will be 1 PM, Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Clinton, IL. Full military honors will follow. The family entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with arrangements.
Memorials may be directed to Clinton Eagles, FOE 593.
Stan was born August 9, 1926 in Beardstown, IL the son of Wayne Stone and Beatrice Elmira (Adams) Williams. He married Doris Elizabeth Burge on August 9, 1947 in Clinton, IL. She passed away June 30, 1982. He later married Marilyn Hunter on February 24, 1984.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Williams; son, Terry (Patricia) Williams and grandson, Ryan (Kelly) Williams; great-grandchildren, Connor and Kara. He is also survived by step-son, Steve (Kathy) Hunter; step grandchildren, Andy Hunter and Danny Hunter and Brandon Hunter and 11 step great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charles and Paul “Gene” Hunter and sister, Marilyn Bowman.
Stan enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Europe during and following WWII. He owned his local roofing business in Clinton, IL form 1962 until his retirement in 2000.
Stan was a member of the Clinton VFW and Clinton Eagles, FOE 593. He was designated as the “Oldest Living Golden Eagle” in the chapter.
