George Lee Vincent Jr., 72, of Fairmont, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at United Hospital Center after a battle with cancer. He was born in Fairmont on November 10, 1946, a son of the late George L. Vincent Sr. and Goldie Moran Vincent.

He was a 1964 graduate of East Fairmont High School. He worked at Owens-Illinois, Loveridge Mines, Morgantown Machine Hydraulics, and retired from Precision Machine. George was an avid hunter and trout fisherman, who loved spending time at his camp in Smoke Hole, WV. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his wife, and could always be seen working outside in his yard.

George was a member of the A.F.&A.M. Acacia Lodge No. 157 of Fairmont and the Osiris Shriners. He attended Fairmont Free Methodist Church.

He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and several special neighbors.

George is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Betty Kretoski Vincent.

He is also survived by his children: son, Tim Vincent and wife Sharon, of Chesapeake, Virginia, and daughter, Cindy Perkins and husband Dave, of Fairmont; five grandchildren: Breanna Vincent Toutloff and husband Jason, of Raleigh, North Carolina; Payne Vincent and wife Hilary, of Clearwater, Florida; Patrick Perkins and wife Julissa, of Fairmont; Brandi Vincent, of Daytona Beach, Florida; and Levi Perkins and girlfriend Tawny Huffman, of Fairmont; and one great-grandchild, Gabriel Toutloff.

George is also survived by his brother, Kenny Vincent and wife Judy, of Fairmont; sister, Alma Stansberry, of Richmond, Virginia; two sisters-in-law: Carol Coxon, and Vicki Lemire and husband Jeff, all of Michigan; brother-in-law, Joe Kretoski and wife Dawn, of Michigan; and many loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws, Reverend Joseph Kretoski and Betty Kretoski; and brother-in-law, Lowell Stansberry.

Family and friends are welcome to call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont, on Friday, from 1 p.m. – 8p.m., and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., with services taking place on Saturday, March 22, 2019, at the funeral home, with Pastor Carl Radcliff officiating.

In keeping with his wishes, George will be cremated following the service.
