HUNTSVILLE, Texas - Philip T. Fox, 68, Huntsville, passed from this world on Monday, March 11, 2019, at Houston Methodist Medical Center in Houston, Texas.
Phil was the son of the late Winford and Beryl Fox. His grandparents included Elmer and Flossie Fox of Missouri and Vern and Lela Ewing of Illinois, all deceased.
He is survived by Mary (Eaves) Fox, formerly of Galesburg, wife of 33 years. His daughters include Tina (Ruben) Sanchez of Houston and Toni (Donald) Motz of Wataga, Illinois. Grandchildren are Jennifer (Ken) Bukowski, Braeden Sanchez and Colton Motz; and his great-granddaughter, Ava Bukowski. Surviving siblings include Gregory (Nancy) Fox of Caneyville, Kentucky, Deanna Schaeffer of Monmouth, Illinois, and Dr. Susan Redmond (Walter) of San Benito. He leaves behind a beloved extended family in Visalia, California (Virginia, Dayana, Jyselle, Julianna and his special buddy, Jayden; who was thought of as a daughter and grandkids). He is also survived by in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Phil was born in Denver, Colorado and grew up in Monmouth, Illinois, where he attended local schools and graduated with a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Monmouth College in 1972. His management and administration career spanned 42 years with Butler Manufacturing Company/Blue Scope of North America in Galesburg and Visalia, California, retiring with wife, Mary, to Texas in 2016.
Many trips and vacations were enjoyed by recreational vehicle travels throughout the United States over the years. Phil's most current travels included touring the golf course that butted his property in his trusty golf cart. Family and friends enjoyed this activity with him often seeking out misplaced golf balls. He enjoyed the peaceful nature of the birds and animals that frequented his property.
Cremains will be returned to Illinois at a later date.
Condolences to the family may be mailed to Box 206, Waterwood, Huntsville, TX 77320.
Memorials, in Phil's name, may be made to American Cancer Research.
