Daniel “Lee” Carter, was born April 5, 1924, on a farm southwest of Tilden, Nebraska to Henderson and AnnaLee Carter.

Lee graduated from Tilden High School in 1941, and soon after began working with his father and brother at Carter Produce in Tilden.

He married Ruth Herron of Irvington on July 22, 1956. They were blessed with twin daughters who were born and died in 1960. Ruth passed away in 2003.

Lee lived and worked in in Omaha from 1955 until 2007, working primarily for Safeway Stores and the Millard Public School system.

He was a lifelong Christian who said that he decided at four years old he would follow the Lord. Lee never had much but faith, but he was always content. He was a member of Midwestern Baptist Church in Omaha, but a longtime fan of Community Bible Church when he was up in this area, until health required that he move permanently to St. Joseph’s Rehabilitation and Care Center.

Lee is survived by his Carter nieces and nephews, LuAnn Carter and Doreen and Mick Kullbom of Norfolk, Don Carter and Cathy (Dave) Negus of Tilden, and Bill (Peg) Carter of Lincoln. He is also survived by good friends, Carole Ann and Glen Jones of Clatonia.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife Ruth in 2003; his twin daughters in infancy; and brother, Douglas Carter.
