Nelda Bybee Shepherd
Nelda Amelia Byington Bybee Shepherd passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 15, 2019 at the age of 90, with her family by her side. She was born on Dec. 30, 1928 in Hooper, Utah. Her parents were John Byington and Charlotte Saunders. She went to the Hooper School. She married Earl Bybee January 7, 1946 in the Salt Lake City Temple. They had six children, Mary (Vern) Harshbarger, Neldon Bybee, Oscar Bybee, Lynn (Susan) Bybee, Gary Bybee and Lila (Parley) Fronk.
She was a primary teacher and also a visiting teacher for the Sunset Fourth Ward. She served in compassionate service when she was in the 17th ward. She later married Glen Shepherd in the Ogden Temple July 20, 1977. She and Glen spent many days going to the Ogden Temple.
She loved to visit with her family and friends. It would make mom the happiest when her family was together for the holidays. Mom loved to crochet. Mom was a loving friend to all. She was also a member of Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She was a member of the Jackson ward at the time of her death.
She is survived by two sons and one daughter: Lynn (Susan) Bybee, Gary Bybee and Lila (Parley) Fronk; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren; one sister Annie Robinson and one brother Lawrence Byington.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; one daughter; one son-in-law; two sons; a granddaughter; a great-great-grandson; one sister and six brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. where viewings will be held on Friday, March 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday prior to the service from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Washington Heights Memorial Park.
