Bill was working for Bell Telephones at Winnipeg when he enlisted with the 101st Battalion on December 10, 1915. On arrival in England in July 1916, he transferred to the Canadian Engineers as a signaler. Served in France with the 2nd Divisional Signals Company. Wounded at Cambrai on October 07, 1918 and invalided to England. Returned to Canada in February 1919. Worked with Manitoba Telephone system until his retirement in 1948.
