Harold Dean Duke, 82, of Eufaula, passed away, Sunday, March 17, 2019 at his home. Harold was born on January 5, 1937, in Eufaula, Oklahoma the son of Charlie Clarence and Veva Mae (Cowan) Duke. He graduated from Hanna High School in 1954 and attended Central State College in Edmond. Harold married Nell Skaggs on November 19, 1956 in Oklahoma City, OK. They were happily married for fifty-seven years, before she preceded him in death on May 12, 2014. He worked over twenty-five years in the newspaper mail room for the Daily Oklahoman and Houston Chronicle. He then worked for Coca Cola for thirteen years in vending machine repair. In 1994, Harold moved back to Eufaula to retire. He helped mow and upkeep the Mellette Cemetery for twenty-five years.
Survivors include: his daughters, Deana Bryson and husband, Mark, of Owasso, OK and Karen Bliss and husband, Wade, of Cedar Vale, Kansas; nine grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Veva Duke; his wife, Nell Duke; and son, Michael Duke.
