Carl Gross, 89, a Bronx, NY native, currently a resident of Greenbriar Community in Brick passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family.

Mr. Gross was a New York City Taxi Driver from late 50's thru the early 70's. He left NYC and moved to Pampa, Texas to start his own taxi business during the oil boom in the late 70s. In the 1980s, he moved to New Jersey where he worked as a security officer at Rutgers University and a bus driver for the senior citizens of Piscataway Township, before retiring in 1996. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War from 1951-1953.

Mr. Gross was predeceased by his parents, Samuel and Anna Gross and by his siblings, Abe, Morris, Larry, and Shirley. Surviving are his loving wife of 46 years, Deborah (McCann) Gross; 3 sons, Carl Gross and his wife, Sandra of Washingtonville, NY, John Gross and his wife, Tilu of Brooklyn, NY, and Michael Gross and his wife, Xenia of Dallas, TX; 2 daughters, Gail-Marie Abbruzze and her husband, Anthony of Clifton and Heather Eodice and her husband, Christopher of Piscataway. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Nicholas Gross, Michael Gross, Ashley Eodice, Allison Eodice, and Ian Gross.

Visiting will be on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-9pm at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A prayer service will be conducted 12noon on Friday in the funeral home. Burial and Military Honors will follow at the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown at 2pm in the chapel.
