Don grew up in Pittsburgh and was an Eagle Scout, and served for the Marine Corps.
He earned his Ph.D. in ceramics from Penn State University and worked for 30 years as a research engineer and division manager for Westinghouse Research and Development Laboratories in Pittsburgh and abroad in Brussels and Tehran.
After retirement in 1990, Don was active with the Westmoreland Conservancy from 1994 to 2011.
Don E. Harrison was diligent, honest, generous, kind, and humble.
Services and interment are private.
Arrangements have been entrusted to English Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., Oakmont.
