GALVESTON — Walter Travis Catoe, 78, died Monday at Park
Plaza Hospital in Houston. Services will be at 10 a.m Thursday at J. Levy & Bro.
funeral Home in Galveston, Rev. Denton Bassett and Rev. Al
T. Johnson officiating.
Burial will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery in League City.
Mr. Catoe was born April 2,1906, ;in. Midway, Texas. He was a
machinist for 50 years.
Survivors include his wife, Beatrice Catoe of Galveston; a son Wilton Travis Catoe of
Temple; three daughters, Betty Kubeska of Hempstead, Jackie
Johnson of Hobbs, N.M., and Carol Elliott of Rosharon; two brothers,
Jessie Catoe of Conroe and Eugene Catoe of Houston; five sisters,
B e r n i c e W a s h b u r n o f Madisonville, Sarah Williams of
Normangee, Emma Woods and Ruby Catoe of Houston, and Ethyl
Goforth of Rye, Texas; eight grandchildren and 5 greatgrandsons.
Pallbearers will be William Johnson, Franz Elliott, Dana Elliott, arry Elliott, Harry Beckwith, and Curtis Catoe.
