MIAMI, Okla. — Jimmie E. Cole, age 46, 64351 E. 140 Road, died at 9:05 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, Mo., following a courageous 13 month battle with cancer.
Jimmie was born Sept. 3, 1960, in Joplin. His parents were Jimmie A. and Janice A. (Ellis) Cole. He had lived most of his life in the Wyandotte, Okla., area. He was a chef, working the past two years for the Wyandotte Nation. He had previously worked at the Cherokee Yacht Club at Grand Lake for 15 years. He attended Sycamore Valley Methodist Church.
Jimmie was married to [redacted] on Sept. 14, 1985, in [redacted]. She survives.
Additional survivors include three sons, [2 names and cities redacted], and [redacted], of the home; one daughter, [redacted], of the home; his mother, [name and city redacted]; one brother, [name and city redacted]; two sisters, [ 2 names and cities redacted]; and two grandchildren, [2 names redacted]. He was preceded in death by his father in 1989.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 8, at Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena. Rev. [redacted] will officiate. Burial will be in Wyandotte Cemetery, Wyandotte. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 7, at the funeral home. The family will meet at the home of [redacted] after the graveside.
