Richard C. Abbey, 77, of Jamestown, formerly of Archbold, OH, died Monday, March 11, 2019 at Buffalo General Hospital. Born September 19, 1941 in Brocton the oldest of Donald and Mae Graves Abbey’s five children. He receive his GED in the early 1970’s.Richard worked in many capacities over the years, including Highway Superintendent for the village of Celeron DPW and also served Celeron as a trustee on the Village Board. He enjoyed hunting and gardening and was a life-long member of the NRA and served on the board of the local food pantry in Archbold, OH. Husband of 57 years to Kay Kahler Abbey, whom he married in Toledo, OH on July 21, 1962; father of Deborah and the late Paul (Sept. 2, 2014); grandfather of Matthew; brother of Brian (Deborah), Donna and the late Ron (Jan. 2019) and Craig Abbey (Feb. 2008). Also survived by nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be held at the family’s convenience. Burial in Red Bird Cemetery. No prior visitation.Arrangements by Jordan Funeral Home, Sinclairville.
