LaGrande was my 2nd cousin through his father, Ernest Windsor Asay.
Ernest LaGrande Asay, 76, our loving and caring husband, father and grandfather, died on January 8, 1992 after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease.

He was born November 1, 1915 in Kanab, Utah to Ernest Windsor and Etta Fern Adams Asay. Married Lucile Judd in Kanab, Utah on November 27, 1936. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 19, 1945. He was employed at Kennecott Copper for 43 years as a locomotive engineer and was an avid hunter and fisherman, having taught many young people Hunter Safety for 15 years.

An active member of the LDS Church, he served an LDS Mission, with his wife, to the North Carolina, Raleigh Mission. While there he served as the first Branch President of the Clinton, North Carolina Branch and he worked in the Jordan River LDS Temple for five years.

Funeral Services were held on Saturday, January 11, 1992 at 2:00 PM at the Sandy Utah Hillcrest Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 8485 South 1000 East in Sandy, Utah. Friends attended a viewing on Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the Goff Mortuary located at 8090 South State Street in Midvale, Utah and on Saturday at the Church from 12:45 until 1:45 PM prior to the services.
LeGrande was laid to rest following the conclusion of the Funeral Services at the Sandy City Cemetery in Sandy, Utah beside his two sons.
