Raymond Francis Moran, 78, of Middletown, passed away at home on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014, with his wife and daughter at his side. He was born in Jersey City on Oct. 14, 1936. Ray graduated from St. Peter's Prep in 1954 and continued his education at St. Peter's College until joining the Air Force in 1956. He married his wife, Marilyn (Lewis) Moran in 1958. After leaving the Air Force (A2C) in 1960, he continued his education at Newark College of Engineering (now NJIT). While married, working full time, and having five children, he continued to receive his Master's degree in Electrical Engineering at Rutger's University.

Having been in International Marketing Engineering, Raymond traveled to all parts of the world and enjoyed telling his travel stories. After retiring, he put a map of the globe with the legends for all the places he had been, as well as the currency and loved talking about it.

Ray's favorite baseball team was the San Francisco Giants. He recently enjoyed watching them win the World Series this year, they are third in six years.

Raymond loved stamp collecting and his "boys" Bubba and Fritz. The bane of everyone else, but he loved them.

Raymond was predeceased by his parents, Raymond A. and Catherine (Nolan) Moran, his son, Patrick J. Moran, and his mother and father-in-law, Lawrence and Jeanette (Deege) Lewis. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marilyn (Lewis) Moran; and his daughters and their husbands, Erin and Robert Dunn of Middletown, Tara and Alan Dean of Belford, NH, and Moira and Tom Ellis of Northport, FL; and his son, Sean Moran of Jackson. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren, A1C Robert L. Dunn and Megan Dunn, Joseph (Emma) Prentiss, Shavawn, Ryan and Shannon Dean, Christopher and Matthew Moran, Jake and Amy Ellis, as well as his loving sisters, Catherine and her husband William Duncan of Manalapan, and Margaret Mary and her husband Vincent Morelli of Lancaster, PA; his sister-in-law, Sharon and her husband William Leahy of South Bend, IN; brothers-in-law, Edward and Judith Lewis of Maplewood, L. James and his wife Mary Lewis of NY, NY and Kevin Lewis of Columbus, OH. He is also survived by many, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
