Alice Lorain (Runyan) Turner went to her home in heaven on February 28 at the age of 89.

She is predeceased by her husband, Lawrence Turner. Alice is lovingly remembered by her children, Glen (Pam) Turner, Gary (Lois) Turner, Carol (Jack) Conway, Phyllis (David) Cornett, Wanda (Doug) Osborne and her grandchildren, Connie (Jimmie) Nimmo, Tammy Turner, Barbara (Eddie) Phipps, Steven Todd (Phylisty) Conway, David (Christy) Cornett, Stephen (Amber) Cornett, Phillip Cornett, Jessica (Chuck) McKenney and Adrienne (Ian) Johnston and 16 great grandchildren.

Alice's greatest legacy was the faith she passed on to her children. She was always actively involved in church activities; choir, Sunday school teaching and ladies-aid projects. She was a great cook and was well known for decorating elaborate wedding and birthday cakes. She also sewed and altered clothes. Alice loved anything to do with crafts such as knitting, crocheting, quilting, woodworking, stained glass creations, and painting. In addition, she was an avid golfer, winning many trophies in her prime.

Alice was an independent woman who wasn't afraid to try anything and usually had successful results. She was a former member of Jackson Christian Church and a present member of Broadway Christian Church. She served her Lord, her husband and her family with great love and devotion.

A celebration of her life will be held at Clark Legacy Center in Brannon Crossing on Sunday, March 10, at 2:30 PM. A Gathering of Family and Friends will follow until 5pm where we will continue to celebrate the life of Alice Turner. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jackson Christian Church, Broadway Christian Church or Hospice of the Bluegrass.
