John D. Mounts, 66, of 1800 N. Clark St., died at 7:25 p.m. Monday at the Audrain Hospital following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Arnold funeral home, conducted by Dr. Bradford V. Powell, pastor of the Mexico Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Florida, Mo. Cemetery.
Born in Alva, Okla., on Jan. 9, 1902, Mr. Mounts was the son of Scott and Treacy Ann James Mounts. On Jan. 3, 1927, he was married to Frances V. Clairy in Hannibal. They moved to Mexico 16 years ago from Perry.
Eight years ago, he retired from the kiln department of the Mexico Refractories. He was a member of the Mexico Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Cleta Ragland and Mrs. Viola Swan of Perry; and two sisters, Mrs. Viola Elder and Mrs. Clara Witchey, both of Eugene, Ore. Six grandchildren also survive.
One son preceded him in death in 1934.
