After the passing of his beloved wife, he studied medicine under Dr Tate in Palestine. Afterwords to which he became a partner to Dr Tate. He also practiced medicine Camden, Indiana, while partnered in a general store with D G Brown in Indiana for a period of time.
Dr. Mills practiced medicine for 45 years.
