Mildred Dorothy Ferguson, 93, of Toms River, New Jersey, died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Meridian Nursing & Rehabilitation at Brick. Funeral service will be held at Silverton Memorial Funeral Home in Toms River, NJ on Friday, February 17, 2017, 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A graveside service will be conducted immediately afterwards at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.
Born April 2, 1923 in Newark, New Jersey, she was the daughter of John and Ida Walter. Mildred is preceded in death by her parents, John and Ida Walter, and three brothers, Joseph, Jack, and Frank, and her ex-husband George I Ferguson, Jr. She is survived by her sons, George W. Ferguson and wife, Kathleen B, of Little Falls, NJ; and Thomas W. Ferguson and wife Diane S, of Wasilla, Alaska; two granddaughters, Alice and Kathleen, and two great-grandsons, Julian and Liam.
Mildred was an active former member of the Little Falls Rescue Squad Ladies Auxiliary, and attended churches services at Visitation Roman Catholic Church, Brick.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Meridian Nursing & Rehabilitation at Brick for their support in her final days.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of y our choice.
Family will receive relatives and friends on Friday 10:00am until 12:00 Noon at the Silverton Memorial Funeral Home 2482 Church Rd., Toms River. Funeral services will begin 12:00noon at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park. www.silvertonmemorial.com.
