Bruce Francis Phillips, age 65, of Aurora, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was born December 22, 1953 in Saint Petersburg, Florida, the son of Ralph and Eleanor (Reinke) Phillips. Bruce was a 1971 graduate of Lakewood High School in Saint Petersburg, Florida and attended Saint Petersburg Community College. He was a mechanic and a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church.
On August 16, 1975, he married Cherrie Leigh Smith in Pinellas Park Florida. She preceded him in death on September 2, 2014.
Bruce is survived by a son and two daughters all of Aurora; his mother, Eleanor Phillips, of Marionville, Missouri; one brother, Larry Phillips and Sue Barker of Marionville, and ten grandchildren. Bruce was preceded in death by his father, Ralph; wife, Cherrie; and his in-laws, Peter and Tenia Smith.
A memorial service under the direction of Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at the Aurora United Methodist Church at 4:00 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made payable to the Aurora United Methodist Church Youth Program in care of the funeral home.
