Pamela Jean Ellison “P.J.”, age 70, of Ackworth, Iowa, formerly of Albia, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at her home.

Pam was born on August 27, 1948, the daughter of Claire and Erma Farrington. She graduated from Albia High School with the Class of 1966. She continued her education at Indian Hills Community College and later, at Upper Iowa University.

Pam was the Director of ITOBA (Indiana Thoroughbred Owner's and Breeder's Association) for a few years. She was employed for nearly 40 years at the phone company. She was a supervisor for many years, until her retirement.

Pam was united in marriage to Ken Ellison on February 10, 1992 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Pam could always find a good deal while shopping. She enjoyed shopping and going out with her friends. She was also fond of travelling and gardening. She loved her animals, including her dogs and cats. Pam had a special passion for race horses and enjoyed caring for them. She also loved to go to Prairie Meadows and watch the horses race.

Left to cherish Pam’s memory are her husband, Ken Ellison of Ackworth; her step son, Dave Ellison of Des Moines; a step grandson, David Ellison of Des Moines; an aunt, Billie of Florida; her dog, Zeke; as well as several cousins and friends.

Pam was preceded in death by her parents, Claire and Erma Farrington; and a sister, Nancy Farrington.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM, Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Lange Funeral Home in Moravia with Rev. Richard Grimes officiating. Burial will follow the service at Hillcrest Cemetery in Moravia. A visitation will take place Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Lange Funeral Home in Moravia, with the family greeting friends from 11:00AM-1:00PM. Memorials have been established to either the Des Moines ARL or to HART (Hope After Racing Thoroughbreds), and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 South 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
